My first sale on Etsy!

Hello everyone!

Today has been a very exciting day because.... I made my first sale on Etsy!

I made my Etsy account in January 2014 when I was making small fabric flowers and dreamcatchers. I gradually added items to my shop and eventually they started expiring after a lot of views but no orders. A few months ago I decided to start making decorated Jute Bags- kind of like a 'bag for life' style bag but a lot prettier. I thought that these could be my ticket to Etsy success.
I haven't really looked at my Etsy shop for a while but then today a notification popped up on my phone saying that I had sold an item. I was so surprised as I had nearly written Etsy off as something that wasn't ever going to work for me. I'm so excited by this and it has really given me a new motivation to keep on making crafts and trying to sell them. I now know that there is at least one person in the world who likes what I do, and I know that that isn't much really but it feels like enough today!

The bag that I sold today was this one, so these 'Three little birds' are going to a new home:

I just wanted to share my excitement and I will keep updating my blog on any more progress I have with my handmade thingssss!

In the beginning...

Welcome to my blog!

This is the beginning of my journey from office girl working the 9-5 into self-employed business woman ruling the world (not really that would be way too much responsibility!!)

As 2015 approaches I have been thinking a lot about the year that has gone by and all the changes that have happened in my life. 2014 has been an excellent year all things considered; I've got myself a 'career' (how grown up!) and moved into my second home with my boyfriend. I feel as though this year is the year where I have really realised what I want from life and what I want to achieve. 

I want to open my own shop and sell beautiful things that people will buy and love just as much as I do!

I'm not quite naive enough to believe that this will be an easy road and I am sure that I will encounter lots of obstacles in the way of my dream. This is why I want to document this next chapter of my life and find like minded people to share this experience with. I hope we can inspire, motivate and help each other on this road,
